Day 381 – July 7th 2023

We are up at 6:30 am this morning for a 7:00 am leave time. We have a long trip today – 71 miles. But it should be beautiful along the river. We pulled out of the marina right on schedule!!!

Today we are going to Trenton, Ontario and Trent Port Marina. This is a big nice marina. It has beautiful grounds and the most luxurious showers we have seen at any marina. We cooked salmon for dinner and went to bed.

Top notch shower facilities that only a boater can appreciate!

Day 382 – July 8th 2023

This morning we got up and after talking to a few others we decided to stay here for one more night. We thought the Saturday local traffic might be an issue. So we are here for one more night. Richard got the bike down and went to the Farmers Market. It had been picked over so he came back with only a few items.

For dinner a few of the others —ones we will be traveling with— decided to grill hamburgers together at the community grill. It was a nice evening and we had a good time talking to all the others we will be traveling with for the next few days. We came back to the boat and went to bed.

Day 383 – July 9th 2023

This morning we are up at 6:30 and ready to go. We arrived at the first lock and three boats went in. We were the last boat in. We locked thru and continued on. The first boat was not traveling with us and he pulled over to the side. So then it was just two boats and it made the locks more manageable. We are traveling with Sea the USA — Pam and Jeff.

Top of Lock 1 – only 44 more!

We made it thru all six locks and tied up on the wall after Lock 6. This lock has power available on the wall that is included with the cost of our lock permit.

For dinner we all went over to the boat Legacy — Carol and Gary. They had made chicken fajitas and we all brought sides. We made guacamole and chips. It was delicious and we all sat at a picnic table and ate. There were 8 of us. The boats Legacy, Sea the USA, GloriaUs, and Boomerang. We all had a good time together. After dinner it was back to our boat and to bed.
