Day 345 – June 2, 2023

This morning we were up at 5:30 for a 6:00 departure!!! When we left most of the other boats had already gone!!! Lots of early risers here!!! It is a beautiful day!!!

Early morning in Delaware City

We are going from Delaware City to Cape May, NJ. This is a segment that Richard was watching carefully due to the notorious wind and currents in the area. That combined with the long fetch of the Delaware Bay can make for some significant wave height. There is a reason that the Coast Guard has it’s only accession training center in Cape May and considers it their Hometown.

Salem Nuclear Power Plant

In spite of that, we had a very pleasant ride today. We had very favorable currents starting about 10AM and passed most of the boats that left before us. We topped out at a blazing 12.6mph today!! We arrived at Cape May at 12:30 pm.

Calm waters are great for fishing.

We docked and checked in and went up to the pool bar and had lunch. Then it was time for a nap! For dinner we had good old leftovers!!!! Delicious!!! And easy!!! To bed soon after!!!
