This morning we were up early at 6:30am!!! Today is the day we leave Key West!!! We told the marina in Marathon we could be there around 1:00 so it is an early morning for us!!! We got off the dock and underway with no issues!!! It is an easy ride up to Marathon!!! We made it with no issues!! We got docked into our slip with no problems and had a lot of help from the marina staff!!! It is always good to have help!!! This is a really nice marina and we have a great view!!!! We grilled steak for dinner. Off to bed in our new home for the next month!!!!
Day 194 – March 2nd 2022
Richard spent a lot of time washing the boat today!! Our friends Matt and Joanna arrived today in their boat!!! They have guests Oland and Mitzi onboard. It is good to see them again — it’s been along time!!! We all visited and had cocktails together. Richard and I went to a Great Loop cocktail party tonight at the sunset beach area. It was great to meet so many people who are here doing the loop like we are!!! We all chatted about our journey so far and met lots of nice people. We walked to Keys Fishery and got takeout for dinner. Another great day and it’s great having our friends here for the month!!!!
Day 195 – March 3rd 2022
We went to the pool with the whole gang today. We got drinks and lazed around the pool. We went to dinner tonight with Pam and Doug Elleby. They are friends from Destin when we lived in The Anchorage condo. We went to the Barracuda Grill for dinner and it was absolutely delicious!!! We all had an awesome dinner!!! It was a fun night catching up with old friends!!!
Day 196 – March 4th 2022
We had another awesome pool day with the whole gang. We lazed around the pool all afternoon!!! For dinner we went to Florida Steak and Lobster. We all had a fantastic dinner. The atmosphere and the restaurant are really nice!!! I had sushi for my meal and it was delicious!!!
It is another awesome day in the books!!
Day 197 – March 5th 2022
Richard went and picked up a rental car to have for a few days. Oland and Mitzi went home today. We tinkered around the boat all day. Richard and Matt did laundry today. We went to Island Fish Co. with Matt and Joanna for dinner. We all had another great meal!!! I know this getting old but all the meals are fabulous!!!!
Day 198 – March 6th 2022
We went to Key West today with Matt and Joanna. We had lunch at Conch Republic. It was yummy!!! We walked around town for awhile then saw golf cart rentals so of course we had to have one!!! We got our cart and cruised all over Key West!!! This is the way to travel these small crowded streets!!! We shopped at Lily Pulitzer where we all scored new clothes!!! I got a cute dress!!! We also made our obligatory stop at West Marine. No trip is official without a stop there!!!! We went to a cigar store for the guys. It was a fun day traveling around Key West!!! We finally headed home around 8:00pm. We all had an awesome day!!!
Day 199 – March 7th 2022
Richard returned the rental car today. Richard picked up prescriptions at the drug store. We had another pool day today. We cooked hamburgers on the grill for dinner. Another fun, fun day!!!
Day 200 – March 8th 2022
Richard did a few projects on the boat today. He tested the water maker getting ready for our upcoming trip to the Bahamas. I can’t wait to go back to the Bahamas!!! For dinner tonight we cooked country style ribs and Matt and Joanna ate with us. Another awesome day in the Keys!!!
Day 201 – March 9th 2022
Today we did a face time call with Sara and all the kiddos. She is surprising them with a visit here in Marathon!!! They were shocked when she said let’s go see Pops and Glammy right now!!! She and Chris had them all packed and ready to go and they went straight to the airport!!! What a surprise!!! They got on the plane in Dallas and flew to Miami where they rented a car and drove to Marathon. They had some issues with the rental car place being very crowded and it took a couple of hours to get out of there but they finally arrived!!! It is so good to see them!!!! We instantly put Kinsley and Myles on the boat with us and they went to their condo that Richard had checked them into earlier in the day.
