We went to the pool for awhile this morning. Richard went to play golf this morning. There is a loopers group that is having a get together this afternoon. Richard stopped at the grocery and bought some snacks for us to take and share. We got dressed and went over to the clubhouse and met the group. There were a lot of really nice people there. We met so many new people!!! We had snacks and cocktails and then we left to go to our dinner reservations in downtown Key West. It was Tutu Tuesday and everyone (but us) were wearing. Tutus in celebration of 2/22/22. Anything for a party in Key West! We had dinner at Antonio’s restaurant. It was very good and everyone enjoyed their meal!!! Back to the boat and off to bed!!!
Day 187 – February 23rd 2022
I’m so sad!!!! Today is the day Linda goes home!!!! How can a week go by so quickly??? It feels like she just arrived!!! She went up to the pool this morning for one last pool visit and then came back to the boat to get dressed and packed. We took her to the airport around 3:00. Her flight was on time and she left the Keys as scheduled!!!! Please come back soon!!!! Richard and I went to the Mexican restaurant tonight since we still had the rental car. We both had a great meal!!! Back to the boat and off to bed.
Day 188 – February 24th 2022
This morning Richard had to go return the rent car. Today has been a lazy day. Richard did laundry and washed sheets and towels. Richard cooked steaks for dinner. Yum!!!!
Day 189 – February 25th 2022
Today we decided to have a pool day!!! It was a GloriaUs day!!! We enjoy this pool area so much!!!! We will really miss it when we are gone!! I got a message from a sorority sister Sara Oliver Dupree today and they are in town and want to meet us!!! We made plans for tomorrow to meet up downtown!!! I can’t wait to see them!!! We had steak salad with the leftover steak from last night. It was yummy!!!
Day 190 – February 26th 2022
Today is the day we are going to downtown Key West to meet my friends!!! We got showered and dressed and took an Uber downtown. We had made plans to meet at The Bull a bar in Key West. Richard and I were the first to arrive. We got a table and in just a minute Sara, her husband Fred, Lillie Ann, and her husband Greg Winn arrived!!! It was so great to see them!!! We decided we were not at the best place to talk — it was a very noisy bar— so we walked down the street and found a little outdoor dining restaurant called Caroline’s on Duval and stopped there. We all ordered drinks and commenced the process of catching up!!! I don’t think I have seen Sara since I graduated college in 1983!!!! We talked and talked and ordered a few snacks to munch on!!! It was so much fun talking to them. We finally said our goodbyes and caught an Uber back to the marina. We got an order of fried chicken from Matt’s Restaurant for dinner. It was delicious!!!! What a fun day I had today!!!
Day 191 – February 27th 2022
Richard woke up this morning and wanted to go play golf. He went to the golf course but was only gone for about an hour because it started to rain. It rained off and on all afternoon. Richard cooked spaghetti for dinner. It was delicious as usual. Everything he cooks is delicious!!!! Off to bed!!!!
Day 192 – February 28th 2022
Today is a sad day!!!! This is our last day in Key West!!!! I can’t believe we have been here one month already!!!! It feels like we just got here!!! We have to leave tomorrow to go to Marathon!!! It was a lazy day. For dinner we went up to Sloppy Joes bar and ate. I had a flatbread pizza and Richard had nachos. Charlie got to go too!!! We sat outside and he sat in a chair beside Richard. He was the hit at the restaurant!!! Everyone that walked by had to stop and pet and talk to him!!! He was feeling very loved!!! After dinner we took him to the little dog park at the marina and he got to run around without his leash on!!! It was another great night in Key West!!!!
