We got up at 5:00 am this morning to leave!!! I know—that’s really early!!!! We left in the dark as the Wheeler Lock requested that our flotilla arrive at first light!
We made it thru the lock with no problems. All the problems started at the second lock, the notorious Wilson Lock!!!! We sat there and waited forever!!!! We were thru Wheeler by seven but Wilson was having issues!!! We waited for hours!!!! Finally we locked thru with 22 looper boats and 10 bass boats. More about the bass boats later.
When we finally got thru we knew we would not get to Pickwick as we had planned. We called the Florence Marina and they said we could tie up to their fuel pier with no electricity. So that’s what we did. We ran the generator all night and it was ok. We went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant in town. It was a good night.
