Day 447 – October 17th 2023

This morning we are up early for our trip. Today we are going from Alton Marina to Kaskaskia River Lock & Dam. The Kaskaskia River empties into the Mississippi so it is a safe anchorage. We’ll tie up on the wall of the lock, no electrical or other services here.

Departure from Alton Marina was delayed about 90 minutes due to heavy fog at the Mel Price Lock just down river. Luckily we talked to the lock master prior to departing and waited out the delay safely tied in our slip.

Headed to Mel Price Lock after the fog cleared

We had to make a small pit stop in St. Louis because all the boats wanted pictures in front of the arch. We all got our pictures!!! Yeah!!!

We all are continuing down the Mississippi River. Passing lots of barges!!! We got to the wall and got tied up with help from other boaters who were already there. No where for Charlie to walk except the wall. No grass!!! We had dinner and went to bed.
