Today we are going from Joliet to Ottawa. We left at 6:30 am and got to Heritage Harbor Marina in Ottawa IL at 5:30 pm. A really long day!!! Today we had 3 locks which takes a while to get 14 boats thru.
We finally made it to Ottawa and got everyone safely docked. We went up to the restaurant where the dock master gave a briefing outlining the travel over the next couple weeks to Paducah KY. We ate dinner during the meeting. We were glad they kept the restaurant open for us!!!
The briefing was very informative. He gave us lots of good information that we will need during the two weeks. Richard’s job as flotilla leader is officially over but he will continue to lead those who continue to travel together as we all move further south.
