This morning we are up at 7:30. The locks don’t open til 9:00 so we slept in a little. We left at 8:30. We left in the second group with Sea the USA. It took about an hour to get to the first lock. We went thru and have another hour to the next one.
Today we are going to Campbelford, Ontario. When we got there we found out they had a special stay 2 nights and get the third night free. So we are doing the special and will be here for 3 nights. For dinner we walked to a pub and had drinks and fried pickles. Then we went to another pub and shared an order of gnocchi. After that it was back to the boat and off to bed.
Day 385 – July 11th 2023
Today is a lazy day. Richard ran a few errands including donuts from the “Sweetest Bakery in Canada”! They were great. We went to Dockside Bistro for dinner with Legacy, Sea the USA, and Latitude Attitude. A thunderstorm rolled in at the end of dinner and we waited it out at the bar. It was another good day.
Day 386 – July 12th 2023
Another lazy day. We ate dinner on the boat and walked over to an outdoor park for a concert they were having. All the other boaters—Legacy , Sea the USA, Boomerang— were there sitting at a picnic table for the concert. We brought lawn chairs to sit in. It was a good show!!! After we walked back across the bridge to our boat and went to bed.
Day 387 – July 13th 2023
Today we are on the move again. We are going to Hastings, Ontario. We stayed at Hastings Village Marina. We went thru 5 locks today. These locks keep me busy and moving around during the day. No slacking off on Lock days!!!! For dinner we walked to a local pub. Richard had wings and I had Mac and Cheese. On the walk back we got an ice cream. Lots of ice cream to eat on The Great Loop. After that we walked back to the boat and went to bed.
Day 388 – July 14th 1013
Today we are going to Peterborough Ontario. We only have one lock today right at the end of our trip. We cooked shish kabobs for dinner and they were yummy!!! We are docked at the Peterborough Marina. It was another good day.
Day 389 – July 15th 2023
We are not moving today so we get to sleep in!!! Yeah!!!! We have a lazy relaxing day. For dinner we are meeting Legacy, Sea the USA, and Boomerang at a Mexican restaurant. We all had a good dinner and margaritas!!! We took an Uber back to the boat and the others walked. It was just too far for me to go—over a mile away. They were having an outdoor concert back at the park by the marina and we listened to that for a few minutes before going to the boat.
Day 390 – July 16th 2023
Today there is not much happening. I slept in again today. All the other boats we’ve been traveling with left today so we will be on our own tomorrow when we leave. Richard did a few boat chores. Tonight we are having cheeseburgers for dinner.
