Day 365 – June 21st 2023

A beautiful day!

This morning we are up at 6:00 and getting ready to depart. We are off the dock at 7:00 am.

GloriaUs cruising down the Erie Canal
Not sure what we have here, any ideas?

We have a series of locks to go thru this morning. We go thru seven locks total. The last lock (Erie Canal Lock 17) was the largest one we have been thru to date. It has a lock lift of 40.5 feet.

We stop for the night at the Town Marina of Little Falls NY. We are tied to a public wall in the a pretty park setting. The local Rotary Club operates the marina and park.

We are having issues getting the electricity to work so right now we have none. A group of boaters that are all tied to the same wall as us got together for docktails this evening. It was fun meeting a lot of new people. For dinner we had burritos from a Mexican taco truck across the street. It was delicious!!!!

Day 366 – June 22nd 2023

Today is a day of rest!!! We are not moving today. Richard moved the boat up a few feet and got shore power electricity. I slept til 11:00 am!!! Yeah!!!! Patti explored and walked the town. Richard got the bike down and went to the bank and a few stores for supplies.

Glad we are hanging out here today. There is a car show at the little park beside the marina later tonight. They award GloriaUs the Best Boat Trophy!

Our first boat trophy
This is a Corvair, Richard’s mother had one when he around 7.

For dinner Richard cooked some sausages that Patti bought at the market. They were delicious!!!! We all had a good lazy day!!!

  1. That’s so interesting about the locks. I have been thru one many years ago. Don’t even remember where. Seems like when we were on the ship coming back from Germany. USS Patch.
Anyway we are enjoying South Dakota in spite of rain and hail today. Everything is very green.
    Love all your photos!
