Day 352 – September 16th 2022

Today is a bittersweet day. It marks the end of the 2022 crazy, cruising season. We’re moving the boat from Oxford Maryland to the Boat Yard in Trappe Maryland. GloriaUs will be hauled out and stored for the winter to begin her project list.

It’s only 16 miles but it’s a beautiful day for the final cruise of 2022. Dawn and I are both enjoying the calm waters and beautiful scenery. Even Charlie seems to know today is a bit different. We arrived safely at the boatyard and got everything squared away on GloriaUs before disembarking.

Hard to believe the season is over!

The boatyard owner gave us a ride back to the car and we started on the long 1100 mile drive to our home in Florida. We’ll miss the boat and cruising life but we’re also looking forward to a few months on land. We’re looking forward to seeing friends and family who we have sorely missed during these months at sea.

Our plan is to return to the boat mid May 2023. Will continue our cruise north heading through New York with a western leg thru Canada followed by a run down Lake Michigan with an exit at Chicago and into the river systems where we’ll eventually make our way south until we come into the Gulf of Mexico where we’ll ‘cross our wake’ back at our home in Florida.

That is unless we change our plans again!
