We left the dock at 7:00 am this morning. We went to the fuel dock at Thunderbolt and filled up with diesel. $2100.00 later and we are full!!! Fuel prices are taking the fun out of this cruise!!! We left out and are going to Beaufort, SC. It is a lovely ride along an abandoned area of the waterway. Nothing to see but nature and Gods glory!!!! A good friend and fraternity brother of Richard, Larry Pileggi, dropped by. He gifted us with some home brewed peach hooch. Yikes, have to take it easy on this stuff! We ate at the marina bar and off to bed!

Day 276 – July 3rd 2022
We left Beaufort and are headed to Bohicket Marina just south of Charleston SC. It was a good trip not too long. We got all tied up and went up to a little bar to get some dinner. We had a good meal and went back to the boat to watch the Astros on tv. It was a good night.
Day 277 – July 4th 2022
We woke up this morning and headed out to Isle of Palms Marina. It was a good ride offshore. We saw some old landmarks from when we lived in Charleston. Folly Beach, Fort Sumter, and Patriots Point. We made it and safely tied up at the dock. We are at the face dock on the end of the pier. Richard grilled ribs for dinner and afterwords we went outside and watched fireworks from our boat. They were great and lasted about 30 minutes. We met some nice neighbors while sitting on the boat during the fireworks. It was a good night. Happy 4th of July y’all!!!!

Day 278 – July 5th 2022
We are laying over a couple of extra days at Isle of Palms. We loved living here and still have a lot of roots here. We are meeting Chris and Nancy Union tonight for dinner at The Boathouse, a restaurant on Isle of Palms. We got a ride there with Brian Tyler who had come to visit with Richard. They had worked together. It was good getting to see old friends tonight!!! We had a great dinner and Chris and Nancy took us back to the boat. It was a great night!!!

Day 279 – July 6th 2022
This morning we got up and Richard left to go play golf with Steve Pegolo. The Pegolo’s are our neighbors from The Woodlands. They chose Charleston as their retirement home. They were playing in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
They came to the boat to pick me up around 3:30 that afternoon. We got in the car with Steve and we took Charlie too!!! We got to their house and it is a beautiful home!!!! We got the grand tour and it was absolutely lovely!!!! Sheila had a whole table filled with appetizers and we all snacked and chatted with each other.
Two of their children were there—Molly and Kevin and their two children ,and Jen and Mark and their three children. It was so good to see them all!!! We all had fun catching up with each other!!! For dinner she had ordered barbecue with all the fixings and it was delicious!!! We even had banana pudding for desert!!! Very Yummy!!!
It was really good to see them again but the fun unfortunately had to end. Steve took us back to the boat. What a great day!!!
