Day 114 – July 24th 2021

Today our goal was to leave at 7:00 but we actually left at 7:40. Oh well we tried!!

We left the protected waters of the ICW and went out into the ocean and we had WAVES!!!! They were 4-5 ft big!!!! The forecast had been for 2-3 ft waves!!!! A lot can change overnight!!!!

On the inlet to St. Simons there our salvage crews at work removing the capsized cargo ship Golden Ray. There were 4200 automobiles on board the Golden Ray when it capsized on Sept 8, 2019. The piece of equipment they are using to cut it apart is amazing.

We finally made it to St. Simons Island,GA around 12:30 pm. Boy were we glad to be there!!! We’ve had enough rough seas for one day!!!! Our boat looks like we had a garage sale!!!! Stuff is everywhere!!!

We are all tied up at the dock and we went up to the restaurant to get some lunch. We had a nice meal, I had fish and chips that were yummy!!! After lunch I crashed on the sofa while Richard tried to clean the salt smear off of our boat. It was nasty!!!

We had cocktails on the upper deck and went down for dinner. We had steak, baked potatoes, and Brussel sprouts that the Captain prepared. After dinner I showered and crawled into bed to read. It was another awesome day!!!
