Day 63 – April 30th 2021

A note from the Captain:

Hello all from the beautiful Exumas. I thought I would answer a question that several people have asked. “How are you finding the anchorage and spots along the way?” Well, there are really several answers. First, this is the fourth Bahamas cruise that our friends aboard Bullet have made. RobRoy and Sherrie are a wealth of knowledge. Rob’s pilot training led him to keep meticulous notes from the previous trips. Secondly, there is an excellent crusiers guide for the Bahamas called Explorer Chartbooks. There is a picture above of our anchorage at Normans Cay. It marks the suitable anchorages, recommended path to the spot, and provides knowledge on your surroundings like shallows, rocks, reefs, and surges. It also has a “Need to know Info” section which is like a short travel guide for each area. Finally, other cruisers in the area are happy to share their experiences good and bad. Jeff and Melissa Davis, who we caught up with early this year in Key West, are aboard FlipFlop in the Bahamas as well. They are about two weeks ahead of us and they pass back valuable info and insights along the way. So we’re safe and having fun! Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

Now back to the Admiral!

We left Allens Cay and came to Normans Cay, a short 15 mile relocation. We have a lovely anchorage. We put the dingy in and took Charlie to the beach for a potty walk and planned a return trip for tomorrow. It is beautiful here!!!! We came back to the boat and had cocktails with Sherrie and RobRoy. They came over on their dingy. We cooked the chicken casserole from the night before and it was delicious!!! It was another awesome night!!!! I love the Bahamas!!!!!
