Day 61 – April 28th 2021

Today we got up and piddled around for a bit. About noon we decided to leave and go on a 30 mile trip to an anchorage at Allens Cay on the northern part of The Exumas.

It was an easy ride not too rough. We got to the anchorage and there were 2 catamarins anchored and so we picked our spot and dropped our anchor. It is a very calm anchorage. Later in the afternoon we had cocktails with Rob and Sherrie.

After Rob & Sherrie went back to their boat, we decided to take Charlie for a walk. We all got loaded in the dingy and headed out for the beach. After we left Rob called us over to him as he was trying to help a neighbor get anchored. They were having problems.

Enroute to assist, our dingy engine quit and we were drifting. We called out for Rob to help us but to no avail. We drifted onto a rocky coast and were having to keep pushing off of the rocks. Rob finally heard us and came to our rescue!!!! He pulled us off of the rocks and towed us back to the boat!!!! We were safe!!!!

That was a very close call!!!! We were lucky!!!! Once back at the boat we scrapped the plans to take Charlie to shore. We fixed a late dinner and ate at about 9:30 pm. What a wild crazy night!!!! I’m ready for bed!!!
